- In FINRA Case No. 23-02452, a customer of MML Investors Services, LLC alleged that Mr. Baker misrepresented a variable annuity issued around March 12, 2021, and mismanaged a wrap account opened in January 2021 that lost money while market benchmarks rose. The customer claimed $99,000 in damages; the case was settled in February 2024, for $20,000.
- In FINRA Case No. 23-02489, another MML Investors Services customer alleged that beginning in 2021, Mr. Baker made material misrepresentations in the sale of whole life insurance and variable annuities, falsified signatures, and made fraudulent representations on insurance applications. The claim settled in March 2024, for $450,000.
Mr. Baker resigned voluntarily from MML Investors Services, LLC in November 2023, following allegations relating to sales practice violations involving whole life insurance and variable annuities.
