In April 2025, a customer of Lifemark Securities filed a FINRA arbitration (No. 25-00808) seeking $300,000 in damages. The complaint alleges that Mr. Minter recommended unsuitable alternative investments, including private placements and corporate debt products, which were intended to be a small part of a diversified portfolio but led to substantial losses. Mr. Minter was sanctioned by the Florida Office of Financial Regulation in November 2024 (Case No. 121421-SR). He was fined $32,000 and issued a Cease and Desist order for providing investment advice from within Florida without being properly registered. Florida statute §517.12(4) prohibits unregistered advisory activity.
