Settled November 2018 for $50,000 - Texas Regulators Revoke Registrations of Smith and Smith Wealth Advisors: In October 2025 the Texas State Securities Board (TSSB) revoked the investment advisor representative registration of Ronald Dewayne Smith, Jr. The investment advisor registration of Smith Wealth Advisors, LLC, was revoked as well. According the the TSSB a routine inspection of Smith Wealth Advisors in February 2025 revealed that funds had misappropriated from the accounts of at least ten clients. Subsequently the TSSB filed a notice of hearing which was set for September 2025. Smith and his company did not attend and a default dismissal was granted leading the revocations. The final order from the Texas Securities Commissioner orders Smith Wealth Advisors and Smith to cease and desist from engaging in fraudulent business practices and to refund $1.4 million to the clients.
