In November 2025, FINRA initiated and finalized a regulatory action against Ziogas (FINRA Case No. 2025085310001) Without admitting or denying the findings, Ziogas consented to a permanent bar from the securities industry after refusing to provide documents and information requested by FINRA in connection with an investigation regarding the allegations in a felony indictment filed against Ziogas. - Ziogas Pleads Guity to Offenses Related to Cancelled State Medicaid Audit
According to a press release dated 11/26/2025 from the U. S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut, Ziogas pleaded guilty in New Haven federal court to offenses related to interference with a state audit into a Medicaid provider who engaged in health care fraud, as well as a separate bank fraud offense.
The scheme related to a proposed audit of Family Eye Care in Bristol, CT, and Ziogas’s fiancée, Helen Zervas who is an optometrist and owner of Family Eye Care. Ziogas participated in making bribe payments to Konstantinos Diamantis, a senior official in the State’s Office of Policy and Management in an effort to cover up Medicaid overbilling.
Ziogas, who served as a State Representative for Connecticut’s 79th Assembly District pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit extortion under color of official right, making false statements and bank fraud. These counts carry maximum terms of imprisonment of 20, 5 and 30 years, respectively.
