Andy S. Rampersaud has been involved in multiple customer disputes alleging unauthorized transactions, speculative and unsuitable investment strategies, and misrepresentation.
In a FINRA arbitration (Case No. 23-03267) filed on November 10, 2023, a customer a customer of his prior employer Securities America alleged Mr. Rampersaud employed a speculative options strategy inconsistent with the client’s instructions and risk tolerance. The matter settled for $60,000 in July 2024.
Another case (Case No. 23-01867) filed on June 29, 2023, involves allegations of speculative strategies in listed equities and options, also inconsistent with customer instructions. The settlement amount was $14,000.
In an earlier arbitration award (Case No. 13-00982), a customer was awarded $18,922 after alleging Mr. Rampersaud recommended an unsuitable Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT). This is relevant to FINRA Rule 2111, which requires brokers to recommend investments that are suitable based on the customer’s financial situation and objectives.
Andy Rampersaud was permitted to resign from Cambridge Investment Research, Inc. in June 2014 after allegations that he made unauthorized transactions in a client account.
