In 2/2023 Eduardo Leon, Jr. was notified that a FINRA investigation was initiated regarding certain purchase transactions made in the Fall 2021-early 2022 time period for several clients in a certain foreign bond issue that had gone into default by mid 2022, resulting in losses. This is an ongoing investigation.

In 4/2023 a customer of Global Financial Services was paid $174,175 (funded 100% by Leon) to resolve allegations that Eduardo Leon mistakenly purchased an incorrect amount of a foreign bond issue. The bond went into default in May 2022.

Another Global Financial Services customer was paid $265,943 in 9/2022, also completely funded by Eduardo Leon to resolve allegations that purchase of a short duration bond, with a S&P Bond Rating of B+ was made without authorization and was inconsistent with the customer’s moderate risk tolerance.

In 9/2022 a Global Financial Services customer was paid $235,000, all funded by Eduardo Leon, to resolve allegations that Leon acted without authority when he invested in a bond that defaulted. The customer also alleged that Leon failed to impose “stop loss” orders in 4/2021 on two securities resulting in losses.

Earlier in his career, in 4/2010, Leon was the subject of a customer complaint alleging sales practice violations that resulted in a $300,000 settlement.
