The FINRA records of  Timothy D. Walsh ,  a registered investment advisor with Xenith Financial Advisory Services disclose a recent sanction by the Texas State Securities Board  (TSSB), the  settlement of 2 customer disputes  and a termination from employment.

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.

TEXAS SECURITIES REGULATORS FIND THAT WALSH OVER-CONCENTRATED ACCOUNTS CAUSING LOSSES OF $2 MILLION

In August 2026 the TSSB found that Walsh utilized a trading strategy that included concentrating 98%-100% of client’s accounts in a single stock. One of the stocks traded was SolarEdge Technologies (SEDG) dropped 71% in 2023 and 85% in 2024. As a result 17 clients of Xenith Financial Advisory Services lost approximately $2,233,050. Advisors have a duty to make suitable recommendations. Concentrating large percentages of an investors portfolio in a single stock, in this instance virtually all of the account, is clearly not suitable. Many of the victims are at or near retirement age, thereby exacerbating the lack of suitability. Texas regulators suspended the registration of both Walsh and Xenith Fiinancial SErvices Advisory for six months. Link to TSSB Order.

In 2025 a customer of Xenith Financial was paid a settlement of $135,500 to resolve a complaint alleging that Walsh failed to manage their portfolio in a manner appropriate in light of their age, investment objectives and risk tolerance.
