In 8/2026 FINRA suspended Sullivan for three months (8/2026-11/2026) to resolve allegations that he exercised discretion without prior authority when placing 581 traces in the accounts of two customers. By mis-marking solicited trades as unsolicited Sullivan caused the firm to maintain inaccurate books and records. FINRA also assessed an administrative fine of $10,000.
A customer of UBS Financial Services, Inc. filed a complaint alleging unsuitable investment recommendations for a person of his age made by Sullivan. This complaint, concerning investments made between July 13, 2015, and August 14, 2024, resulted in a settlement of $96,565 paid by UBS Financial Services in 10/2024.
Mark Sullivan was discharged from UBS Financial Services, Inc. in 7/2024, following a review that determined he violated firm policies by exercising discretion in customer accounts without proper authorization, mis-marking trade tickets, and not being forthcoming during the firm’s internal investigation.
