According to an FBI Press Release, Heidi Y. Calonge, 34, of Plant City, Florida, was sentenced to 18 months in federal prison , followed by 6 months home detention for bank fraud, wire fraud and mail fraud .
She was also ordered to pay restitution of over $150,000.
Calonge was lead agent and manager of Express Insurance of Plant City and allegedly posed as the owner of the company to perpetuate the scheme. According to the FBI, Calonge defrauded owners out of bonus and commission checks from various insurance companies with whom the company did business.
