We are investigating former RBC Capital Markets broker Paul V. Blum of West Palm Beach, Florida. According to his official FINRA record, Blum was employed by RBC Capital Markets from 10/2009-11/2015.
Blum has five pending customer complaints in which the customers make various allegations of wrongdoing, including the following:
- Accounts were handled on a discretionary basis and the risk to their portfolio was disregarded. Damages alleged, $375,000.
- Advisor recommended unsuitable and over-concentrated investments in the energy sector. Damages alleged, $886,070.
- Advisor purchased high yield bonds without prior consultation. Damages alleged, $133,000.
- Advisor was negligent in recommending the purchase of bonds that have since defaulted. Alleged damages, $450,000.
Total settlement of the prior seven customer disputes that have been resolved is about $1 million.
