According to publicly available records Robert Wyla Melberth, a broker employed by Emerson Equity, discloses multiple customer disputes seeking more than $12 million in damages.
The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.
Between 7/2022 and 10/2022, three FINRA cases were filed by customers of Emerson Equity alleging among other things – breach of fiduciary duty, violation of FINRA/NYSE rules, breach of contract and negligence, violation of securities acts and regulations and fraudulent inducement to hold investment. Damages of $3,276,000, $728,000 and $2,100,000 are sought in the cases, which are still pending.
Between 9/2022 and 10/2022, three FINRA cases were filed by customers of Melberth’s prior employer, Aegis Capital Corp. Allegation in those suits include – fraud, inadequate due diligence, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, negligence, unsuitable recommendations, fraudulent inducement to hold investment. Damges of $3,000,000 and $55,000 and $2,482,000are sought in the cases, which are still pending.
Melberth has been employed with Emerson Equity since 7/2022, before that time he was with Aegis Capital Corp.from 6/2015-7/2020. His dba in Sarasota is Melberth Capital.
