According to publicly available records Daniel J. O’Neill,  a  former stockbroker registered with Aegis Capital Corporation, disclose a regulatory event,  2  customer disputes, a termination and 6 outstanding liens.

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.

In July of 2021, FINRA filed case # 2021070337301 alleging that O’Neill had excessively and unsuitably traded one of his customers accounts and that he effected trades in a customer’s account without first obtaining authorization or consent for the trades from the customer. FINRA also alleges that O’Neill excercised de facto control over the account, excercising unauthorized trades in customer accounts. According to FINRA this unauthorized trading resulted in loss of more than $147,000 while charging commissions of over $140,000.  The regulatory case is currently pending.

In February of 2016, a customer of  Aegis Capital Corp. alleged unauthorized trades and misuse of margin.    The case settled for $12,500.

In February of 2021, in currently pending FINRA case #21-00273, a customer of Aegis Capital Corp.  alleges unsuitable investments and an unspecified amount of damages.

In July of 2021,  O’Neill was discharged from Aegis Capital Corp. in response to allegations that he failed to keep the firm apprised of the status of the pending enforcement investigation which resulted in the initiation of a formal enforcement proceedings against the representative alleging conduct inconsistent with firm standards.

From May of 2012 until September of 2019, over $110,000 in IRS tax liens were filed against O’Neill as well as a $30,000 lien filed by Ladenburg Thalmann & Co., Inc. – a former employer of O’Neill.

Daniel James O’Neill was employed with Aegis Capital Corp. since April of 2013.   Before that time he was with Ladenburg Thalmann & Co., Inc., Maxim Group, Wachovia Securities and Oppenheimer & Co.
