The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.
In another pending FINRA arbitration 14-0335, customers of Wilbanks Securities allege damages of $1,465,000 and allege that the Aztec Oil & Gas investment was improperly sold, with former representative John Stevens, guaranteeing the performance of the program written by William Freeman. Claimants contend that Freeman did not determine suitability of the program. Claimants contend that Steven Sharpe, Aaron Wilbanks and Randy Wilbanks are liable under CO law as control persons.
Stevens was employed by Wilbanks Securities from 1/2006-4/2014.
