According to publicly available records Mark John Williams , a former broker who last was registered with Kingswood Capital Partners, discloses three pending customer disputes and 3 prior customer disputes.
The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.
Williams is not currently registered. He was last registered as a broker with Kingswood Capital Partners. He was previously registered with Forta Financial Group. He is also a registered investment advisor with Financial Gravity Family Office Services, J.P. Turner and Company & Cetera Financial Group. Williams was employed by Centaurus Financial, Inc. from 11/2015-3/2021. Williams is an owner of Financial Gravity Companies, the parent company of the Advisor and Financial Gravity Asset Management and Financial Gravity Enhanced Markets LLC, according to his FINRA disclosure.
Current Customer Disputes vs. Mark Williams
In 7/2024 a customer of Centaurus filed an action in the Superior Court of California, Monterey County, alleging that Mark Williams witheld material facts and recommended unsuitable, high risk, speculative and illiquid investments causing damages of $546,000. This matter is currently pending.
In 3/2024 a customer of Forta Financial Group filed a FINRA arbitration alleging that investment in GWG was unsuitable. Damages of $300,000 are sought.
In 12/2023 another customer of Centaurus filed an action in the Superior Court of California, Monterey County, alleging that Mark Williams witheld material facts and recommended unsuitable, high risk, speculative and illiquid investments causing damages of $598,955. This matter is currently pending.
Previously Settled Customer Disputes vs. Mark Williams
In FINRA case #22-00706, a Centaurus Financial, Inc. customer (William’s prior employer), alleged that Williams recommended unsuitable, high-risk investments and breached his fiduciary duty. The case was settled for $150,000 in 5/2023.
Another Centaurus customer was paid $32,500 in 7/2023 to resolve allegations that Williams recommended speculative, high-risk investments.
