David Volpe Investigation

November 2021- Scottsdale, AZ

According to publicly available records, David John Volpe a currently unregistered financial advisor whose prior registrations include First Financial Equity, LPL Financial and National Planning Corp. discloses a prior regulatory event, a customer dispute and 2 terminations from employment.

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.

In August of 2019, Volpe consented to sanctions and to the entry of findings that he refused to produce information and documents requested by FINRA in connection with an investigation into whether he engaged in a private securities transaction or borrowed funds from a customer.   Volpe was permanently barred from FINRA in all capacities.

In August of 2020, FINRA case #20-02492 alleged that Volpe converted her funds by liquidating her accounts for his own personal use and by requesting her to write personal checks to him.    The case is still pending. Damages are unspecified.

In April of 2019, Volpe was discharged from employment with First Financial Equity Corporation for failure to notify firm of private securities transaction involvement and violation of firm policy regarding borrowing funds from a client.  Volpe had been employed by First Financial Equity Corporation since January of 2019.   Before that time he had been employed with LPL Financial and National Planning Corporation. He was discharged by LPL Financial in 12/2018 for violations of the firm’s private securities transactions policy.
