According to FINRA records, Michael Peter Sloan, a former Wintrust Investments broker disclose a pending customer dispute.
The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.
In November of 2021, FINRA case #21-02406 alleged that Sloan’s recommendations to purchase non-traded REITs were unsuitable and were made to maximize commissions with alleged damages of $100,000. This case was settled for $15,000 in 5/2023. Two other cases involving non traded REITs were settled for amounts of $17,000 and $1,328.
Michael Sloan is currently employed by LPL Financial. He was employed by Wintrust Investments since 8/2010-1/2025. Before that time he was with Chase Investment Services and Banc One Securities Corporation. Sloan discloses a business affiliation with Wayne Hummer Investments in St. Charles IL.
