According to publicly available records David Monckton , a stockbroker who was previously registered with Voya Financial Advisors, disclose a currently pending customer disputes and 3 prior customer disputes.
The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is the agency that licenses and regulates stockbrokers and brokerage firms. FINRA requires brokers and brokerage firms to report customer complaints and disputes as well as regulatory sanctions. In addition brokers are required to disclose certain financial matters such as personal bankruptcies, judgments and liens.
In 10/2011 a customer of Monckton was paid $75,000 to resolve allegations that their account was mismanaged and that Monckton made unsuitable recommendations. In FINRA Case 20-2867 a customer of VOYA Financial alleged that investments sold to him by Monckton in 2014 were unsuitable based on his desire to protect his principal. That case was settled for $60,000 in 2/2022. In FINRA Case 20-3471 a customer of VOYA Financial alleged that BDC’s and real estate securities sold to them in 2013 were unsuitable and too risky. That case was settled for $15,000 in 12/2021

- FINRA Case 20-4082- a customer of VOYA Financial alleges that investments (Business Development Co. and REITs) sold by Monckton were unsuitable and too risky, based on his desire to avoid long term, illiquid investments. Damages of $85,000 are sought.
David Monckton was employed by VOYA from 1/2005-6/2020. He is currently registered with Ameriprise in Seneca & Myrtle Beach, S.C. Monckton discloses business affiliations with Carolinas Wealth Management in Columbia, S.C. and Blue Ridge Wealth Management in Seneca, S.C.
